About
Project 2027 is a plan to build public software in the open. Right now, governments rent most of their software from private companies that lock them in and charge for every change. Instead, we can build open source tools that states and cities own and share with each other, starting small and local, building the capacity to work at the federal level by 2029, and from there taking technology back from the billionaires. The plan lays out how.
Who's behind it
Hi, I'm Kristen, and I started Project 2027.
I'm a software engineer with about 15 years of experience, mostly in the JavaScript ecosystem. I've been an active open source contributor for most of that time, and I've even had the chance to work on the language itself.
- Champion of the Decorators proposal in JavaScript
- Creator of Signalium and Fetchium
- Ember.js core team alum
- Maintainer of far too many npm packages
